Los Rios Rock School isn’t your average “music lessons” place.

We combine one-on-one instruction with a full band experience. That means, instead of simply “playing an instrument,” our students learn how to think, feel, and create as a musician.

Combining weekly private lessons and group rehearsals, our goal is to prepare students to confidently take the stage in front of a live audience. Our teachers are professional musicians, dedicated to creating supportive yet challenging settings that build a lifelong appreciation of musical performance.

A student wrote this

“The best place to ever get lost in the sound.”

I think that LRRS is a great place to learn music and probably the best place to ever get lost in the sound. Being part of a band is like being part of the team and we never lose the race. It’s fun and when I go onstage I feel nervous but when I get into it I love that I am one of those people that I used to watch on stage.

What families say after a year or two here.

My son's experience here was fantastic. He was hesitant to check out the school at first because he loves Blues & Country music, but the teachers here can do anything and will certainly do their best to accommodate and encourage students. Not only did my son grow as a guitarist but he had countless opportunities to perform and play with other budding musicians. At the end of his two years with Los Rios he applied to the Berklee College of Music and was accepted. More than anything, I'm so grateful that Los Rios Rock School exists for those kids who are creative and are looking for a different place to feel like they belong. It's a wonderful thing to have what makes you unique be celebrated.

Who knew my kids could be rock stars? Tyler and all of the teachers at LRRS (Yay, Christian!) are so phenomenal, they have unbelievable talent and oceans of patience. It's clear they all love what they do and it shows. Elizabeth keeps the place super-organized and highly energetic. So glad we found them. My kids are 12 and 14 and play drums and bass. The fact that they get to perform in REAL shows at REAL venues is priceless!

Best investment of time and money I have ever spent on my child! We had been looking for a place where my son would feel most at home and build long lasting friendships and Los Rios Rock School delivered on that and so much more. The kids have so much opportunity and flexibility in what instruments they learn. The band program has been so much fun! I get goosebumps every time I see my son on stage.

My son has been a student at Los Rios Rock School for 1 1/2 years. He came to the school as a keyboard student with no prior experience. Now he's a fluid keyboard, guitar and bass player. He has performed on big stages like House of Blues singing lead and playing these instraments. The teaching staff at Los Rios Rock School have created an environment of hard work, friendship and fun. This has been a life changing experience for our family.

My daughter has attended LRRS for the past year and she says it's the best thing that she's ever been a part of...She looks forward to her lessons every week and would not miss them for the world! She came in as a shy girl playing only the piano and now plays the guitar and sings too! She has so much confidence now it really amazes me!
